Dougy Center, Tosca Rawls, Director of Development
Soroptimist International of Portland was honored to welcome Tosca Rawls from Dougy Center for an inspiring presentation on the power of compassionate grief support.
Founded in 1982 in Portland, the Dougy Center pioneered the first peer grief support groups for children and has since become a world-renowned model for helping families navigate loss. Tosca shared how the Center provides a safe space for children, teens, young adults, and their families to share their experiences and find hope together — work that now reaches communities across the nation and around the world.
Tosca also spoke about her passion for connecting donors with meaningful impact through storytelling that uplifts the voices of those who are grieving. Her heartfelt commitment reminds us of the importance of empathy, understanding, and community in times of loss.
