PNWA welcomes Stacy Sawin, CEO and Founder of FinAbility, who shares the organization's mission to financially empower survivors of domestic abuse through education, technology, and community support. FinAbility helps survivors build financial confidence and independence by providing trauma-informed financial education, digital tools, peer support, and resources that remove barriers to long-term financial security. The organization believes that financial empowerment is a critical step toward helping survivors live free from abuse and thrive.
Stacy founded FinAbility after her own experience as a stalking survivor, transforming her personal journey into a mission to support others. She combines her background in engineering, business strategy, and nonprofit leadership to create innovative solutions that expand access to financial education for survivors. Stacy holds dual bachelor's degrees in Integrated Business and Engineering and Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from London Business School. She is a frequent speaker on economic empowerment and survivor advocacy.
FinAbility invites community members, survivors, allies, and advocates to attend #SpeakOut 2026 on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Laurelhurst Club in Portland. This free community event features courageous stories from survivors of domestic and sexual violence, fostering awareness, healing, and meaningful conversations while connecting attendees with community resources and support organizations. Registration is encouraged.
