Maura White: Why the First 1000 Days Matter
In a child’s development, the time from pregnancy to its 2nd birthday sets a trajectory that will be key to its emotional health, learning, and relationships.

For 50 years, the Mother & Child Education Center (MCEC) has supported primarily low-income families with no-cost services, education, and advocacy during this time and beyond. MCEC also facilitates access to additional resources through community partners.
n Maura’s presentation, you’ll learn more about what MCEC does, including:
-
Providing parents with education, supplies, and tools
-
Teaching a Safe Sleep program for infants that has helped reduced SIDS by 50%
-
Partnering with community health organizations to create a safety web
